About 4 years ago we received an order for some A7 flyers from a customer who shall remain nameless, the customer who was desperate to get his flyer next day as they were needed for an event that next evening. He called and discussed his requirements and after placing his order through the website emailed over an image of his artwork he wanted printing.
The image was of a dog eared flyer he’s had in his pocket, but worse than that it was an image taken with his phone, bearing in mind that phone technology and particular phone cameras have only recently become of any usable quality. Had this image of the sample card been taken whilst it was flat on a desk, then that would have been at least a step in the right direction., but what made this image truly awful was the fact that the photo had included the man’s hand and a large thumb covering up most of the design along with the footpath in the background.
As it was a very simple design we offered to re-design it for him for about £15.00, he declined and gave strict instructions to proceed with the image we had been supplied. The customer wasn’t bothered, the information on the card was all that he needed and he had to have them.
The image attached is a re-constructed image we were originally sent, however we did re-design the flyer as we didn’t want it to spoil our reputation, the flyers were printed same day with our next day printing so it keep the customer happy and this story continues to make us laugh to this day.
