About the organisation: Henley in Arden Food Bank will open its doors on Monday 25th March with an aim to help feed local people who are struggling to feed themselves in the current economic climate.
The Food Bank will come under the umbrella of a national organisation called ‘Trussell Trust’ who have an established track record in this area and have opened approximately 300 food banks nationwide over the last ten years. The aim of the food bank is not only to feed people but also to signpost them to services which may further support them. EG Citizens Advice Bureau The Food Bank for Henley in Arden will be situated in The Church Hall, Beaudesert Lane, Henley in Arden and will open on a Monday afternoon 1-4 pm and a Thursday evening 5-8 pm.
It will be overseen by local trained volunteers and managed by the local churches in the area.
Donations of food are received from the public and also via supermarket collections. Henley will be fed into from the local Co-Op store within the town which will have a permanent donation point within the shop for local people to donate into and also via twice yearly collections at Tesco stores in the area.
Henley will be linked with TESCO EXTRA SOLIHULL and TESCO METRO KNOWLE.
The food bank is all about looking after the people in the community in which we live and if every community could operate in this way, the world would surely be a better place!
Print-Print printed the leaflets that will be distributed into local households to inform them about the food bank. The service was quick, efficient and very professional. Our website has over 40,000 visitors every month and this section will ‘Showcase’ our customers and their businesses.
